C/S engine on Server 2008 32bit virtual server |

Phil Frank MealService Software | We're trying to get the c/s engine installed on a virtual server running 32-bit Server 2008. Sometimes the service starts up and works fine until the machine is restarted, at which point the service claims to be running, but does not accept connections. Other times the service seems to be running OK, but doesn't accept any connections from the start. One symptom is that when trying to log into the Server Administrator the log-in screen accepts the user name and password and then immediately displays another log-in screen. No error message is displayed.
I'd like some assurance that the serivce runs OK in a virtual machine (although I don't know why it wouldn't). The other variable is that the virtual machine is Server 2008 (albeit 32-bit). We can fall back to a virtual 2003 Server if that's a more compatible option. Any thoughts from anyone? Phil Frank |

Raul Team Elevate | It definitely works fine for us (we have clients with both 2008 32bit and 2008R2 64bit running virtually) and all are ok. 2008 did change the services aspects significantly (session 0 isolation) so it will be different from 2003. For interactive service bulletin see this : http://www.elevatesoft.com/bulletins?action=view&category=dbisam&bulletin=database_server_vista I'd personally suggest install service non-interactively and use sever admin to administer. Other things to look into: - What account is service running under - which folder is dbsrvr running from ? (is it under "program files\" or somewhere else) - make sure firewall is happy with with dbsrvr Raul << Phil Frank wrote: We're trying to get the c/s engine installed on a virtual server running 32-bit Server 2008.
