"Chuck Hall" | That link seems to have expired, but Borland has it here:

Steve Forbes Team Elevate | Hi Roy,

I hope I'm totally wrong (which wouldn't be the first time), but I think the "Grim Reaper" is sharpening his scyth. -- Best regards Steve "Roy Lambert" <roy.lambert@skynet.co.uk> wrote in message news:52AEC4CC-A4D2-4AD0-999E-50AE913187E7@news.elevatesoft.com... > That's good news (I hope) > > Roy Lambert > |

Jason Lee | BDS2007 (CDS2007?) will be a release that could make or break CodeGear.
There are *a lot* of D7 (& under) developers still waiting for a rock-solid release to upgrade to at a *reasonable* price. Steve Forbes Team Elevate | Hi Jason,
I have always been very staunch Borland supporter, owning every version of Delphi, 1 through BDS2006, but had to think long and hard whether to renew my maintenance license a few weeks ago (and that was before this announcement). IMO CodeGear simply cannot compete with M$ in the .NET arena, they will *always* be in catch up mode (and frankly VS2005 is better for developing .NET and ASP.NET applications than BDS2006 even discounting .NET 2.0 support). If they do not target the correct market with the correct products, I do not see a future for them. Incidentally, I did renew my maintenance license, but it may be the last time. -- Best regards Steve "Jason Lee" <computerguy@wavecable.com> wrote in message news:C4B3CB1D-C0D1-4B17-BF03-C47364B90228@news.elevatesoft.com... > BDS2007 (CDS2007?) will be a release that could make or break CodeGear. > There are *a lot* of D7 (& under) developers still waiting for a > rock-solid release to upgrade to at a *reasonable* price. > > Regards > -- > Jason Lee > Elk Run Software |
