If you have the source you should be able to recompile it. If not the dcu's will be for the version of Delphi you downloaded it for and incompatible with D2006. Looking on the website the latest version for DBISAM is D7 so unless you have the source it looks as though you're out of luck. Why not do the changes in the old version of Delphi if you still have it? Roy Lambert [Team Elevate] |

Roy Lambert [Team Elevate] thanks roy, that was one of the options i considered. i do not want to do anything that will potentially disrupt my current development work. setting aside another pc for a request to increase a entry field in one of the forms seems to a overkill. but with your reply, it seems to be the best option; (compared to data migration etc) well thanks for the suggestion. regards rashid |

"Raul" | If you're doing the rebuild work then i suggest go virtual - VMWare for
example . I have an old D5 as well as D7 VM around just for this type of stuff - and you can run it all on same dev machine. And you don't even need a VM. I run D6 & D2006 on the same PC. I just have a separate directory structure for all the addons Roy Lambert |

<< Crap, you beat me I have BP7 here, Delphi 1/5/7/2006/2007/2009 >> Wow, BP7 and D1 ? Are you still doing any work with them, or are you just sentimental ? For the record, I'll always love D1, despite its shortcomings and the shortcomings of 16-bit Windows. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"Raul" | No but it does make life easier - last time i replaced my dev machine i
migrated ALL old dev environments to new system in under 20 minutes - just copy VM files over. Also any hardware problem would allow me to work with any other machine in same timeframe. So convenience mostly.
