Ian Branch | Hi Team, Should I be able to create a Text Index on a CLOB field in a View and then open the View? If not, why not? Regards & TIA, Ian |

Regards & TIA, Ian >> Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're asking it's a no. View is a virtual construct - basically a select statement. At most you can modify data underneath (if sensitive) but not metadata of the base tables. Raul |

Ian Branch | Hi Raul, I was afraid of that. The base tables do have Text Indexes but it doesn't help. Regards, Ian |
