Roy Lambert NLH Associates Team Elevate | Does anyone else have this impression? I've just received another offer. This time I can have the whole RAD studio at the upgrade price.

<< Does anyone else have this impression? I've just received another offer. I've been using it a lot lately, and it's much, much better than Delphi 7, especially in terms of speed and UI. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

That's about the first real reason I've seen to even consider upgrading. Anyone any comments about the UI in relation to D2006 Roy Lambert |

I'll bet you had to go and sleep some of the time. <taking green hat off> That's pretty impressive, but I turn my computer off when I go to bed Roy Lambert |

I'll have to look into hibernation options - my biggest problem is that I normally have about 3-4 IDEs open at the same time, along with about 10 other applications. It's a real PIA to re-setup everything every morning. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

I usually only have half that number of things open at any given time, and for lots of the working day its just two apps. Roy Lambert |

<< I'm impressed with your ability to multi-task. >> I'm not usually working with them at the same time, or constantly switching back and forth, rather I keep them open to remind me of what I have to work on next. I've read the literature, and I know very well that trying to multi-task is the equivalent of trying to do everything poorly. That's why I shut down my email and browser when getting serious work done. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Adam H. | > Does anyone else have this impression? I've just received another
offer. This time I can have the whole RAD studio at the upgrade price. Not sure about Delphi XE, but I've had a problem with numerous upgrades I was going to do. Numerous times I have gone to purchase a newer version. Get through the whole process and am told right at the end that sales to my country are restricted. I then go to my countries area, do the same thing - and for the same product they want 30% (or more) than the USD amount (excluding GST / sales tax / etc!). I end up getting frusturated at the concept of being ripped off, and decide I can live with my current version until yet another update comes out, or they change their policy. They've missed out on at least 3 purchases / upgrades from me over time because of this. Can't help but wonder how many others are out there with the same dissapointment. |
