Delphi XE2 and ElevateDB. |

Steve Gill | Hi Tim,
I attended the RAD Studio XE2 World Tour yesterday in Sydney, Australia. Amazing stuff! Which brings me to my question: Are there any plans to support FireMonkey in ElevateDB? What I'm actually wondering about is the Mac OSX side of things as the Windows side seems pretty straight forward. The reason I ask is, if I decide to rewrite my apps using FireMonkey instead of the VCL, I'm thinking about what will happen on the Mac side with the database. Thanks. Regards, Steve G |

I read in another forum that Delphi Tool Partners are under NDA with regards to XE2, so you may not get an "official" response from ElevateSoft until after XE is actually released. --------------------------------------- Terry Swiers Millennium Software, Inc. http://www.1000years.com http://www.atrex.com --------------------------------------- |

You're probably right, although I would have thought that the NDA would prevent Technology Partners from releasing specific details about XE2 rather than any plans to support it. But I guess it can be difficult to do this without inadvertently revealing things they're not supposed to talk about. I can wait until Embarcadero embargo is lifted if Tim is restricted on what he can say. Just thought I'd throw the question out there. Regards, Steve |

Steve Gill | Hmmm, not sure if NDAs really apply all that much in terms of Technology Partners being able to announce support for FireMonkey:

Steve Gill | Hi Tim,
<< I don't think we need to do anything at all to support FireMonkey, per se. I will need to do some re-working to support the Mac side of things, though. >> As if you don't already have enough things to do - but it would be great if you added Mac support. Thanks. Steve |
