Michael Fullerton | Has anyone moved from using Asta to EDB C/S? I use the messaging in
Asta a little bit. Is there something similar in C/S? A big problem I have with Asta 3 is the fact that the client will lock up if using a wireless connection and that connection is lost temporarily. Is this a problem in EDB C/S? |

Is this a problem in EDB C/S? >> A lot depends upon how the Winsock layer responds to the lost connection. There may be a slight delay while the lower levels in Windows are timing out but, apart from that, EDB can handle an interrupted connection just fine. It will trigger the TEDBSession.OnRemoteReconnect event that can be used to determine what you want to do next. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
