<< Is this error correct select _Dialings, _Connected , MAX(_Dialings) from userstats ElevateDB Error #700 An error was found in the statement at line 1 and column 19 (Invalid expression "_Connected" found, the necessary GROUP BY clause is missing) >> Yes, it's correct - you can't have column names in the SELECT list without a GROUP BY. You can only have constants or aggregate functions. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

You can only have constants or aggregate functions. I think I know what you mean, and if I'm right, for greater clarity shouldn't it read you can't have column names in the SELECT list without a GROUP BY when a aggregate function is used ??? << I think I know what you mean, and if I'm right, for greater clarity shouldn't it read you can't have column names in the SELECT list without a GROUP BY when a aggregate function is used >> Well, I assumed that the discussion was only pertaining to this particular SQL statement, so my statement was directed towards it and not every SELECT statement in general. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
