EWB Does Not Create Backup Files? |

Frederick Chin | It seems that EWB does not create backups of the project files.
Is it by design or is there a setting that I can use? -- Frederick |

This will teach me to more vigilant on source control. -- Frederick |

It takes copies all the time, and can recover intermediate versions that you haven't formally versioned. A .bak or other file is not likely to have helped, as you'd have probably saved at some point anyway. -- Matthew Jones |

Uli Becker | Frederick,

Steve Gill | I use TortoiseHg (Mercurial) for source control, and I have NovaBackup back up my projects twice a day in case I royally stuff them up.

For EWB, I do use Git but I sometimes forget to stage and commit the files. I'll check out AJC Active Backup. Thanks for the tip. -- Frederick |

Frederick Chin | Uli,
/* I've been using a subversion control system for many years. Tortoise works great for me. */ I haven't use Tortoise but Git which is suppose to be easier. Since EWB does not currently support a built-in source control system or a plugin, I have on a number of times forgotten to update the source control database after work. It was lucky that I was only at the stage of building the interface of the project and I still had earlier commits or it would have been a big problem. -- Frederick |
